The AI in Social Science Methodology conference is a free, one-day, fully online event that brings together researchers, methodologists, and teachers who are working on the use of AI in social science research.
Artificial intelligence is no longer a peripheral tool in social science research; it is transforming the way questions are formulated, evidence is gathered and interpreted, and findings are presented. This raises questions about the opportunities that AI opens up, as well as its limitations and the standards by which AI-assisted research should be judged. Addressing these issues requires open dialogue between those experimenting with these tools and those sceptical of their potential.
We welcome contributions on the various ways in which AI can be used across the research process, from ideation to quantitative and qualitative tools, as well as the epistemological implications of AI for research quality and AI-enhanced teaching and learning.
The conference will take place online via Microsoft Teams on 8 December 2026. It is organised by the AI Lab of SGH Warsaw School of Economics.
